You have been uniquely and specially chosen by God to begin, or continue with, your mind renewal journey that scripture commands. We do this by 'holding thoughts captive for Truth' as scripture states. We of course only do this while we are awake and not at rest. For if we did this while resting in bed, we'd be up all night. Since we don't hold thoughts captive for Truth while in bed, we can rest easy, knowing that all thoughts we experience during this time are not necessarily factual or true. Just this fact alone brings healing to people.

Don't be surprised if you get some pushback from the 'old-self' when you start gently confronting 'mind lies'. The pushbacks will decrease in time.

Below are some common lies that people will experience throughout their mind renewal journey, along with proper scripture Truths to proclaim.

MAIN BIBLE TRUTH: I, new man/self, don't worry about my life, my body, or tomorrow

Noticed mind lie: "You're not loved by God"

BIble Truth: Nothing can ever separate me from God's love

Noticed mind lie: "God has abandoned you"

Truth: Never will God leave or forsake me. I am His dwelling place.

Noticed mind lie: "You're going to lack a lot of things and suffer"

Truth: God provides for all my needs, according to His wisdom and riches.

Noticed mind lie: "Be afraid, this isn't fair, you're guilty off, it's okay to engage a little in so and so"

Truth: God takes all the fear, anger, guilt, and temptations when I willfully choose to give them to Him by an act of faith.

Noticed mind lie: "You'll never success at all this".

Truth: I CAN do all things through God, who gives me the powere, WHEN I turn to Him in time of need.

Noticed mind lie: "You're not doing God's will, and you'll never know it even if you tried to know it"

Truth: I trust in the Lord with all my heart and I lean not on my own understanding.

Noticed mind lie: "The old man, flesh, or evil one has power or dominion over you"

Truth: Greater is the God that lives within me, than he that is in the world.

Noticed mind lie: "Your life is an absolute mess. Just accept it. Nothing ever works out for you"

Truth: God Is causing ALL things to work together for my good.

Noticed mind lie: "Look at how unfairly you're treated, and how no one likes you or cares about you"

Truth: Since God is for me, who cares whose against me.

Noticed mind lie: "God isn't hearing and anwering your prayers. Look at all the suffering and adversity you're going through?

Truth: When I face weakness, God's grace is sufficient for me and His power is being perfected in me.

Noticed mind lie: "Don't forgive that person. Look at what they did to you."

Truth: Since I do things that I don't want to do, it's not I that does it, it's the sin living within me that does it. That person may be the same as well, so I forgive them.

Noticed mind lie: "You'll never be healed or restored"

Truth: After I've suffered awhile, God WILL restore me and make me strong, firm, established and steadfast.

Noticed mind lie: "You're always going to be a slave to your body's passions, fear, emotions, and so on"

Truth: God Word, the Truth, is setting me free.

Noticed mind lie: "It's not fair. Look at what's happened to you? You've been trying to live a Godly life and it's really not worth the effort?

Truth: Yes, people have mistreated me unfairly and I've had to suffer because of it. However, like Joseph in the Old Testament, God is bringing good out of it.

Noticed mind lie:"Don't waste your time in prayer. It's not really helping anything.

Truth: When I come to God, weary and burdened, in silence, solitude, and stillness, I'm nourished, strengthened, and renewed.

Noticed mind lie: "Life is not going your way, and never will"

Truth: I give thanks to God in all circumstances, for that's His will for me in Christ Jesus.

Noticed mind lie: "Just look at how everything in your life, and in the world around you, is falling apart and makes no sense at all"

Truth: I live 'by faith' in God's sovereignty and divine providence, and not by what I see happening around me.

Noticed mind lie: "It's not fair that you have to work hard at this 'mind renewing' stuff, when 99% of people don't, and just continue living by their selfish ego.

Truth: This life is short and temporary. My finite mind can't conceive the glory that I'm going to experience one day because of my concious decision to follow God's Word.

Noticed mind lie: "Since so many other people put themselves first, you need to do the same:

Truth: I put others needs ahead of my own. It's the only way to true happiness and contentment.

Have no fear of the evil one, for he will not dare come near you. Be he ever so cunning, he is powerless to violate the inner sanctuary of you will, although he will sometimes attempt it by indirect means. Even an angel cannot touch your will directly. God alone may enter here.
